6 months old

Mitch turned six months old last week. If he wasn't growing and developing before my eyes, I wouldn't believe that much time has already passed. Don't worry, I still vividly remember the labor and delivery. He currently weighs 19 lbs 6 oz, and is 27 inches long. Both those measurements mean he is in the 75th percentile.

Mitch started solid foods about a month ago. I was going to wait until he actually turned six months (per the current AAP reccomendations) but he was just too grumpy. He really likes rice cereal, refuses oatmeal, and really likes fruit and sweet potatoes. He's not too keen on other vegetables, but he'll usually choke them down if he's hungry enough.

Developmentally, he is rolling over both ways and if I leave the room for more than a minute, I'll usually find him in unusual places...like underneath the kitchen table. He's getting better at sitting on his own. And, he's still our little jabber jaws, telling us stories all the time. Oh, and he popped his first tooth the other day.

In other news, Todd went to Michigan last week to visit the University of Michigan. He enjoyed his trip and UM is definitely in the running for him. He will visit Penn State (not the State Pen) this weekend, and could possibly visit Purdue and University of Illinois in the near future once he hears back from them. It has been a big blessing that these trips have been at the expense of the University...otherwise we would be making a blind decision as far as where to go to school in the Fall.

We visited a company, NavAir, this last weekend in Ridgecrest, CA. If Todd was looking for a job, it would be a good option for him. However, he's more interested in continuing his education. And I might add...thank goodness!

Now for the pictures!

My name's Mitch, I'm 6 months old and I'm single. However, I am what some would dub a "Momma's boy." Call me.
The ladies are always crawling all over me! Must be the helmet. They think I've got NFL ambitions. Gold-diggers.
We thought this bib would be a good idea. It just gets in the way!
Again, ladies, call me.
Too cute not to post.

I told Todd I wouldn't post this picture....but I lied. Mitch looks too cute on his first ice-skating experience!
