Snapshot

Here's a snapshot of our summer so far.  We're enjoying our time in Utah being close to family.  It's also nice to have a job! There were times when we were in school that we wondered if that day would ever come! When people ask me what we're up to lately, I usually just reply, "same ol' day to day"- but I couldn't be happier! We lay pretty low around here, not too many errands to run with a baby in tow, but it's real nice to just enjoy a lot of time at home together. We're enjoying our summer so far and look forward to a few more adventures before Mitch starts Preschool in the fall- which by the way- according to Mitchell, starting school means getting a backpack; I guess we know what is on the birthday list when he turns four in August.

This kid knows how to roll over and has since he was a little over 4 months- but I haven't seen him roll over in weeks! He is the most content baby.  Currently, his favorite toy are his toes. I love watching him gnaw away at his toes!

Joyschool

 I'm just feeling super sad right now- missing our Merced friends so much. I am especially sad that Mitch doesn't get to hang with his Joyschool pals anymore.  And especially especially sad that we moved before Joyschool was over and Mitch didn't get to finish it because I am no mother of the year over here.  I just couldn't muster up the energy to plan lessons just for him. He is worth it, trust me.  Maybe before he starts preschool in the Fall I will swing a few lessons here or there.  It's such a great curriculum for kids this age.  Mitch looked forward to Joyschool so much each week.  He perked right up on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings when I would tell him "Guess what! Today is Joyschool!"  He especially loved it when it was held at Reese's house or Emily and Sam's house.  He learned a lot of important concepts through the Joyschool program, and I just love to hear him still sing the songs like, "Oh boy! I've got joy"-- too cute.  We miss you Merced friends!
